Maturity as a believer
I like reading Perry Noble's blogs because he tells it to you how it is. There is not any fluff in it but more of "this is what the Bible says no do it." Here's a blog I like of his that gives you a check on trust, obey, and obedience when you think "but I don't feel like it!" and how your how you feel.

TRUST
For some reason this word has been heavy on my heart the last 8 hours...yes even while I was sleeping. It all started when I was riding with one of my friends and we were having a good conversation. She ended up saying "do you TRUST that God will provide you with..." Ok that made me start thinking right then and there. Then during the night I was having a dream (that was really good :) ) but it again made me think...how much do I trust that God will provide THIS for me. It was heavy on my heart so 6:45 a.m., I decide I needed to do some typing to get this out.
Because do I truly believe and trust God with everything in me. That He will provide a husband for me. That He will provide my finances for me. That He will provide protection for me. That He will provide food for me. That He will provide this or that for me. How many times have I questioned God's ability or my trust...which is extremely stupid of me because God has it ALL under control and taken care of if I put ALL of my trust in Him. It says time and time again in the Bible to trust God, if you trust God, etc.
I looked up the word trust in the dictionary and this is what it said:
Trust (verb)
-to have trust or confidence in; rely or depend on.
-to believe.
-to expect confidently; hope (usually fol. by a clause or infinitive as object)
-to commit or consign with trust or confidence.
-to permit to remain or go somewhere or to do something without fear of consequences
-to invest with a trust; entrust with something.
-to give credit to (a person) for goods, services, etc., supplied:
Some scriptures that slapped me in the face about trust:
2 Samuel 7:28
Sovereign LORD, you are God! Your covenant is trustworthy, and you have promised these good things to your servant.
1 Chronicles 5:20
They were helped in fighting them, and God delivered the Hagrites and all their allies into their hands, because they cried out to him during the battle. He answered their prayers, because they trusted in him.
Psalm 13:5
But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.
Psalm 25:1
[ Psalm 25 ] Of David. In you, LORD my God, I put my trust.
Psalm 32:10

Heavenly Father, I want to stop doubting you and your abilities and let you put your whole hand in to do the work. I need to put behind me that I am capable of doing it because my abilities cannot even compare to a pin point of yours. My trust needs to be in you and in your alone. I TRUST YOU!!!

Trust
This WHOLE summer has been filled with different traveling adventures. :-) My first summer break as a teacher is about half over as I head up north to the tundra aka Michigan (even thou this time it was a furnace). On our journey up we decided to stop at Starbucks for a couple reasons...reason #1 We LOVE our coffee. reason #2 We NEEDED our caffeine (especially driving late at night). reason #3 We like seeing people's response to "surprise me". reason #4 We LOVE our coffee...wait did I mention that one already :-P
However, this pit-stop was well worth it...Our first stop was at Chipotle and I do not think the workers were very happy with us considering we came in ten minutes before closing. Sorry but tough luck, we were hungry!!! Second, we skipped over to Starbucks to fulfill our desire for caffeine. :-) [You can't have a much more perfect stop than these two places side by side.] I am just going to say that the stop at Starbucks was WELL worth it.
My friend and I LOVE to get drinks with flavor but have the barista surprise us and this time was no exception. The Starbuck baristas totally played into it. I got our usual, Americano, with a flavor and my friend had barista #2 completely surprise her with a drink...before any explanation both drinks were really good :-) Before I tried my drink, barista #1 said if I did not like it he would make me a new one but there aren't many things that I do not like. I tried the drink and usually try to play the guessing game of what is in it...this time it took me three drinks before I got it (my friend said I'm usually pretty good at getting the flavor correct). I did like the flavor and it was the first time that I had it, so point to barista #1. Barista #2 then proceeded to make my friend her drink which ended up being a little more complex than mine. And she could not drink it until she stirred in the whipped cream. Once stirred in and we gave the drink a try, we came to conclusion that it also was a winner and a first time, so point to barista #2.
We ended up doing a recording of that part of the evening because we enjoyed it that much so maybe I'll try to post it later (it'd be a good laugh).
With all this said and done, it made me think while I was driving...and how people put their trust humans to make them drinks, food, what ever yet hesitate trusting God.
Job is a great example of trusting God no matter what. Satan challenges Job's integrity, proposing to God that Job serves him simply because God protects him. Then God removes Job's protection, allowing Satan to take his wealth, his children, and his physical health in order to tempt Job to curse God. Despite his difficult circumstances, he does not curse God, but rather curses the day of his birth. And although he protests his plight and pleads for an explanation, he stops short of accusing God of injustice. Because Job trusted God and did not curse him, "the Lord made him prosperous again and gave him twice as much as he had before." (Job 42:10b). "The Lord blessed the latter part of Job's life more than the first." (Job 42:12a)
So how much do you trust God? Do you trust Him to protect you no matter what and not curse Him? Can you trust God completely? Maybe what does it look like to trust God?
