non-Materialism

Let's see how this works out...

My lovely friend and I met up with one of our friends who was in for a few days from out west. It was really nice being able to see her and catch up some because we have not seen her since she left a few months ago. Also, another mutual friend met us there which ended up being enjoyable. While we were talking my friend mentioned a way she heard "faith" described as without a doubt being certain and unwavering about what you believe even if it is the smallest amount. (I hope I worded it correctly.)

I have always heard faith being described as "being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." (Hebrews 11:1). The way she described faith really struck me and made the gears in my mind start turning...Do I or am I certain or unwavered about what I believe? or if someone asked my why I believe in Christ, how would I answer? Is my heart and mind certain about what?...but if I am even having to ask myself those questions than I should do a little digging and becoming more personal with God.

In my heart and my mind, I want to FEEL God and KNOW God without a doubt of uncertainty. So to check those big two things in check, I decided to get rid of some of my materialistic reminders of God...yes I know this is probably backwards from others but when I think of God I want it to be true and come from my heart and my mind. Two of the materialistic things I took off were my faith ring and my cross necklace. But I cry out to Him (and my eyes are filled with tears ready to come down my cheeks). My mind and soul have been restless and I am uncertain about my future or "what's next."

So God my question is "what's next?" but I ask that you speak to me in a way so I FEEL yoU and HEAR yoU without a doubt. I know you have never left me but I want to feel you and truly believe without a second thought that yoU are with me ("Never will I leave yoU nor forsake yoU"--NEVER-->What!?! Really??) YoU love me that much that yoU will ALWAYS be with me...That is just amazing because I don't deserve it.

Jesus, I want this to be completely true between yoU and me so I become more like yoU and our relationship grows exponentially.

One Pure and Holy Passion

I know right now in my life I'm asking God "what's next?" because it's another transition time in my life. But I really want to give my heart and my mind over to God... So I do ask to give me one pure and holy passion, one magnificent obsession, and one glorious ambition for my life. Lord, I pray that I do know and follow hard after You so I can enjoy the journey You created for me as Your disciple. You are my Leader and my Comforter and my Protector and my Provider and my All in All. I love you Jesus.

WOW God!!

Can I say today is another beautiful day that God has given us. :) This evening I went to Starbucks to get a Caramel Frappuccino Light and sit outside to enjoy a new book I just got and God bless me with this perfect weather to do in (and yes I tried to work a little bit on "my tan").

As you know I am a BIG time numbers person (to some a nerd) which my mind and eyes are attracted to them. The book I picked up has some number facts and talks about mind-boggling science of an Awesome Creator. I know my God has done and still is doing some amazing things but when you break it down it really is "WOW my God did that!!" :)

The title of the book is "God's an Artist and You're a Masterpiece". Take a second and really ponder on that the title says. "I'm a Masterpiece" really? Heck yeah, you are and God did a wonderful job too!! :) I know some times things do not seem so happy go lucky and we question why did God made me like this or like that or with this or with that but please remember God did not screw up one bit. Yes, that might be hard to grasp but it's true. Our God created each of us uniquely to be one of His masterpieces.

Here are some of the things in the book that caught my eye and made me thing WOW God, really!?! :)

-Owls can hear sounds ten times softer than humans can pick up.
-A German shepherd or a bloodhound has 220 million smell cells compared to 5 million smell cells for humans.
-An eagle has eyes that are larger and six times sharper than those of a human. (dang...and I even went to the eye doctor today)
-Birds see everything at once and in total focus because their eyes are flat.
-Seagulls have built-in sunglasses (actually droplets of reddish oil that shield the retina from the sun's blue light).
-A flea can jump one hundred times the height of its own body-equivalent of a six-foot man jumping over a forty-story build.
-A flea can accelerate fifty times faster than a space shuttle.
-The fastest moving animal is the peregrine falcon clocked moving at 217 mph in a dive for prey.
-A snail moves at a rate of 0.000362005 mph.
-A person has six hundred muscles compared to a caterpillar which has over two thousand.
-An ant can lift fifty times its own weight.
-A bee can handle three-hundred times its own weight-equivalent to a human pulling a ten-ton trailer.
-Seals can dive to depths of up to 2,600 feet and stay under water for as long as two hours without coming up for air.
-The Arctic tern travels up to 22,000 miles a year without getting lost.
-A camel can keep going for three days, carrying a heavy load, without drinking a drop of water.

My Maker is definitely the WOW type and I am amazed by Him all the time. Some times I know I take His creations for granted and later I kick myself for it. And there is so much out there that God wants us to see and experience. He has planned a journey for each us to go on and it's up to us whether we accept the journey with full trust, faith and hope in Him...Let our amazing God WOW you because He is the Creator of everything big and small. :)
