Higher

"We have everything we need to live a life that pleases God. It was all given to us by God's own power, when we learned He had invited us to share His wonderful goodness. God made great and marvelous promises, so His nature would become part of us. Then we could escape our evil desires and the corrupt influences of this world.

Do your best to improve your faith by adding goodness, understanding, self-control, patience, devotion to God, concerns for others, and love. If you keep growing in this way, it will show that what you know about our Lord Jesus Christ has made your lives useful and meaningful.
But if you don't grow, you are like someone who is nearsighted or blind, and you have forgotten that your past sins are forgiven.

My friends, you must do all you can to show God has really chosen and selected you. If you keep doing this, you won't stumble and fall. Then our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will give you a glorious welcome into his kingdom that will last forever."

2 Peter 1:3-11


Lately, I have been wanting to be drawn closer to God in ways that I have not been before. I am longing to know Him more and more each day. I have this driving force inside of me to read the wonderful words the Lord has provide us. I have been wanting to talk to Him more often to strength my relationship with Him. I ask Him Jesus to draw me closer to Him so I can hear Him more effectively and do His will.

God has provided everything we need through His power; however, we still want more and more. I know for me most of the things I want are materialist, earthly things that will just fade away. God's love will not fade for it is immeasurable and unfailing. I pray that God's amazing nature and power will be living through me today and my days to come and I am able to improve my faith by adding those things He wants me to.

I was listening to my songs on itunes and Lincoln Brewster's Take Me Higher came on and this song really expresses how I have been feeling.

This song has really spoken to me. The lyrics are straight forward but I feel like they express how I have been feeling for a couple things. While I was lying on the floor (yes, I did it :P ) I felt like there was something tugging at me. My arms felt like cement and I could not pick them up so I layed there longer and could not move. All my emotions and feelings were going at a hundred and one miles per hour but I felt that God was turn them into some kind of organization where I could find some sort of calming feeling (since I have been all tangled up lately).
